Samen Vrouwenvoetbal ontwikkelen in Noord-Holland
Naast het bedrijven van topvoetbal in Noord Holland heeft VV Alkmaar de kernwaarde van het ontwikkelen van het vrouwenvoetbal in Noord Holland opgenomen in haar Missie. Het ontwikkelen van vrouwenvoetbal in de breedste zin van het woord. Hierbij denken we aan kwantiteit en kwaliteit. Van speelsters tot kader. Zelfs het normaliseren van meidenvoetbal wordt hierin in meegenomen.
Meidenvoetbal is de snelst groeiende teamsport in Nederland. Op dit moment voetballen meer dan 156.000 meiden en vrouwen bij een club. Deze groei is een belangrijke maatschappelijke ontwikkeling.
VV Alkmaar wil een positieve bijdrage leveren aan de ontwikkeling van het meiden- en vrouwenvoetbal in Noord-Holland en is daarom in 2012 een academie gestart voor talentvolle voetbalsters uit de regio in samenwerking met het OSG Willem Blaeu in Alkmaar. Zo’n zestig talenten trainen twee tot vier keer in de week bij de academie en daarnaast nog bij hun eigen club waar ze ook competitie spelen. Vanuit de Academie zijn vele speelsters doorgestroomd naar het o.15 team, o.17 team, de Beloften, Vrouwen en/of spelen voor Oranjeselecties.
